The following is a story from a woman we admire here at Fedited. She boldly shares her journey through travel, confusion, love, success, failure, and finding her own identity through womanhood.
Her name is Renja Reenpää and she has a unique perspective on how she found herself in her career and true life calling. Keep reading to learn more about how one woman trusted some friendly advice that would later lead her to her lives calling as a Life Coach.
“Hi, I’m Renja Reenpää and I’m a professional job switcher. My education is Master of Economics and I majored in technology management and politics. I worked with international companies in the field of marketing and management, and at one point as a CEO.
However, in 2009 I sold my apartment, quit my job and went by myself to travel around the world for eight months. When I came back, I didn’t know what to do with my life. A good friend of mine lived in New York and said I should go there. So I did. But I didn’t want just to hang out there and do nothing, so I started to pursue an old dream of mine, acting! I applied for Stella Adler acting school and got in. Although after some time, I noticed I didn’t enjoy it, and I quit.
For a couple of years following that, I traveled between Finland and New York and did marketing jobs, sales, photoshoots, music videos, and other projects as well as working in bars and living life by my rules. It was a wild ride! I felt it was time to move back to Finland when it got harder traveling back and forth between two countries.”

“When I met my husband, it finally sealed me staying in Finland. We were so in love and after a year together I found out I was pregnant. This drove me into a big personal crisis. I’m the type that enjoys life, some sort of rebel! I felt like being a parent, I would have to give up on things like smoking, alcohol, my lifestyle, even giving up on my thoughts. I never knew if I really wanted children or not, they were never in my plans. My family was quite surprised when I told them I was pregnant. Despite receiving a lot of support from my family and my husband, I still found myself depressed. This continued after the baby was born since in the first few months she didn’t sleep well. Maybe it was because I didn’t know what to do with my life, the pregnancy hormones were strong, lack of sleep and the whole new, odd situation of me as a mother. It was a dark time for me. But there was a silver lining: I knew I needed to get myself together and no longer stay a victim.
One of my friends recommended to me that I attend Jeannine Yoder Mentor Master Class. I went there with an idea to fix myself but soon I noticed how coaching started to intrigue me. It was a one year course and it helped me to encounter and conquer my demons. All the techniques I use in my work today, I have experienced them as a patient before. I’ve been on both sides of a table. Everyone’s process is different but I understand it on a deeper level rather than just pick a method from a book. The first six months I dedicated to fixing myself and the next six I began to think about how I can use this knowledge to help others.”

“After I graduated I started my first group session where I fell in love with coaching and training customers. I have also published an e-training: kaikkirakkaudesta.
That is how my company AHAA Helsinki was born and I found myself a new career. I offer my customers either 3 or 6 months of training. The first session is always free. We meet and get to know each other and see how our chemistries go together. I prefer to do those longer periods of training but occasionally I do also short intensive training. Then we concentrate only on one specific topic. For example, ‘what is the meaning of life?’ I do personal and group training, e-trainings, retreats and also short events like bachelorette parties and baby showers. Corporate events are also popular.”

“Usually, a person seeks personal improvement when there’s a problem in some life area. It can be love, money, self-esteem etc. Quite often it’s that people don’t know what to do with their life.”
Like you, we here at Fedited are open to improvement at all times, even when life is going well. That is why we felt this story was worth sharing with our readers. Renja reminds us of a sister or a friend who, while maintaining an optimistic view and free-spirited lifestyle, still found herself questioning her identity and true calling in life. Now the story comes full circle for Renja as she wants to help you gain the awareness you may be needing from the help of a Life Coach. Like Renja said before, this is a process any woman can benefit from on their journey to self-love, no matter what age or stage of life you are in right now. When we read this story it inspires us to remember that anything is possible, be open to the opportunities your life presents, and ignore the critics as you make your own path. Confidence comes from within and the bravest thing you can do is find help from a professional when you need it.
